How to draw a stairwell

Why is this important?
According to the BBMI Standard a stairwell larger than 4.0 square meter (m²) is not seen as living space. In order to calculate this correctly, our system needs to know which part of a room/surface represent a stairwell. Please note that if you don’t draw a stairwell with the exact dimensions in your Floorplanner project, the results of our calculation will differ from reality.
How to draw a stairwell?
Example:
Let’s say you need to draw an apartment that contains two levels: the ground floor and the first floor. There are stairs on the ground floor. This means that you need to draw a stairwell on the first floor.
How to:
Draw a surface on another surface in Floorplanner. Our system detects when two surfaces overlap and automatically subtracts the square meters accordingly.
- Click on the Floor option in the left sidebar
- Duplicate the ground floor
- Select the draw tool in the left sidebar
- Draw the surface on the place of the stair (according to the situation in real life)
- Click on the settings option in the left sidebar
- Give the surface the following name: Stairwell (or Trapgat in dutch)
- Click back to settings
