Why is this important?

According to the BBMI Standard all areas below 1.5 meters in height can’t be marked as living space. In order to calculate this correctly, our system needs to know which part of a room/surface is lower than 1.5 meters in height. Please note that if you don’t draw the exact area/surface of a room that is lower than 1.5 meters in your Floorplanner project, the results of our calculation will differ from reality.

How to mark an area lower than 5 meters?

Usually only a certain part of the room is lower than 1.5 meters. Therefore it’s really likely that you need to draw a surface on another surface in Floorplanner. Please note that this is possible. Our system detects when two surfaces overlap and automatically subtracts the square meters accordingly.

  1. Select the draw surface tool in the left sidebar
  2. Draw the surface in the desired dimensions
  3. Select the surface
  4. Click on the settings option in the left sidebar
  5. Give the surface the following name: < 1.5m
  6. Click back to settings
