How to name a room/surface correctly

The BBMI Standard has certain rules that determine if a room/surface can be marked as living space, other area, outdoor space or external storage. Our system uses the name of a room/surface in Floorplanner to assign it to the right category. If the name of a room/surface is not filled in correctly, the system can’t assign the room/surface to the correct category and the calculation will not represent the expected results. 

There are two ways in Floorplanner to set the name of a room/surface:

1. You can select a default roomtype:

1. Click on the surface
   
2. Click on the roomtype option in the sidebar on the left
3. Select the desired roomtype from the list
4. Click back to settings

2. You can set a custom room name:

1. Click on the surface
2. Click on the settings option in the sidebar on the left
3. Fill in the desired room name
4. Click back to settings
