How to export your Floorplanner project

Why is this important?
In order to generate the measurement report our system needs both the Floorplanner file (.fml) and a Floorplanner image for each floor. We use the Floorplanner file for the measurement calculation and we use the images so that we can display the correct image for each floor in the report. Floorplanner offers multiple ways to export your project and not all options include both the fml file and the images.
How to export your Floorplanner project?
Step 1: One design per floor
Make sure each floor only includes one design. When you create an export of your Floorplanner project, Floorplanner will generate an image for each design per floor. If our system receives two images for the same floor it’s unclear which one is the correct version.
How to:
- Click on the Floor option in the left sidebar
- Check the All designs section in the left sidebar
- Is there more than one design? Make sure you only keep the final version by deleting the other ones.
- Repeat this check for each Floor.
Step 2: Create an export
Requirement: your Floorplanner project needs to be upgraded to Level 2.
- Go to the Projects overview
- Find the project that you want to export
- Click on the three-dotted icon
- Select the Quick Export option
- Make sure the format jpg is selected (this is the default setting)
- Make sure the include FML option is enabled (this is the default setting)
- Fill in your email address and click Export
- You’ll receive a download link of a zip-file that includes both the FML and the images (please note that it can take a couple of minutes before you receive the e-mail from Floorplanner)
